Chicago Cubs; World Series Champions

The Chicago Cubs had the longest streak of not winning a championship in the MLB. They made the World Series in 2016 and their opponent, Cleveland Indians, held the second longest streak of years without a championship. This year one of these droughts would be fulfilled.

The road to the title was not an easy one for the champs. They left Cleveland after the first two games tied 1-1 but the Indians would shock the nation while winning the next two at a difficult Wrigley Field. Being down 3-1 everyone thought the Cubs would for sure continue the 108 year drought with no championship. With the help of a young Chris Bryant and Addison Russel the Cubs battled back to win the next 3 games; 2 being away, and defeated the American League Champions in 7 games. The 108 year curse is now over.
